Product Properties

AFCONA-1501 is an universal dispersing resin tailor-made for the production of aqueous-based universal pigment concentrates. AFCONA-1501 shows a good pigment wetting and stabilizing performance and excellent compatibility with the resins most commonly used in water-based coatings. Due to the primary hydroxyl groups Afcona 1501 is able to crosslink with stoving paints as well as polyurethane systems. Complete water-solubility will be obtained by addition of e.g. 8% AMP 95.

AFCONA – 1501 is recommended to combine with other high mol weight dispersant like; AFCONA – 4560, AFCONA – 4570 or AFCONA – 6225 for preparation of water based pigment concentrates. Pigment concentrates containing AFCONA – 1501 have below special properties:

  1. Very easy incorporation even at low speed
  2. Help to provide better pigment stability
  3. Help to prevent drying of pigment paste on the surface and on the wall of the container.
  4. Contain primary OH group which can involve in cross-linking in systems like PU and baking paint.

Remark : Due to higher binder content than resin free concept, it allows less pigment loading.
