AFCONA-2501 must be added under low shear forces.
- Addition and Dosage
0.1– 0.5% on total formulation. In general at normal conditions, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.3%. In order to obtain good defoaming in final paint, it is recommended to separate the dosage in mill based and let down. Ideal for in mill bases is the use of AFCONA-2502 or AFCONA-2503.

AFCONA-2501 is a silicone based defoamer containing small amount of silicone to give better deaeration. It recommended for all kind of water-based coatings ranging from decorative paints to water based printing inks. AFCONA-2501 is especially suited for all kind of water-based coatings. For colorant grinding where high shear forces are needed for a long time, AFCONA-2502 or AFCONA – 2503 will be a better choice.
AFCONA-2501 is recommended for below systems:
1) High PVC and low PVC emulsion paints based on pure acrylic or modified acrylic and PVA emulsions
2) water based flexo ink s
Remark : After certain time of storage, separation could happen, therefore: SHAKE BEFORE USE.
