With the fluorocarbon modification, AFCONA-3034 itself has very low surface tension. Thus, this additive normally is used as real problem solver for critical condition on surface tension. The present of fluorocarbon further improves the performance of a normal polysiloxane on anti-crater, substrate wetting and leveling. To solve the vertical leveling problem AFCONA – 3034 often is used together with our fluorocarbon modified acrylic leveling additives such as, AFCONA – 3670, AFCONA – 3700 and AFCONA – 3777. These combinations also can solve critical crater problems and among all, the best combination will be with AFCONA – 3700. AFCONA-3034 is extremely compatible with most paint systems and can be used in both water and solvent-based industrial coatings. The advantage of improved substrate wetting, caused by reduced interfacial tension, also results in foam stabilization in most cases. Therefore, it is appropriate to use suitable defoamers at the same time.
AFCONA – 3034 is recommended in below systems:
1) Plastic coatings like PU, UV and thermoplastic acrylic system. It gives good leveling as well as improved substrate wetting. Eliminates common problems of plastic coatings like crater and leveling.
2) Industrial baking systems where anti-crater and vertical leveling is needed.
3) Other solvent based coating where anti-crater, substrate wetting and vertical leveling are needed.
