AFCONA-3238 can be added at any stage of production process. However, high shear force is needed if added in letdown stage due to the defoaming property. For easier incorporation, dilute to 10% in any solvent/s..

AFCONA-3238 is another grade of alkyl modified polysiloxane from AFCONA. The % of alkyl modification in AFCONA – 3238 is in between AFCONA – 3236 and AFCONA – 3239.
The different properties of AFCONA – 3238 from the other grades of alkyl modified silicones from AFCONA are:- AFCONA – 3238 is better in slip
- AFCONA – 3238 is better compatibilitythan AFCONA – 3236
- AFCONA – 3238 is better in defoamingthan AFCONA – 3239.
AFCONA-3238 mostly recommended in foam sensitive systems as listed below due to none foam stabilizing property:
- Solvent –less epoxies
- High Solid or solvent-less polyurethanes
- Paints applied by Curtain coater
- Paints applied by airless spray application
- UV curing systems For matted finish coatings, addition of AFCONA – 3238 will help in matting agent orientation. In UV curing systems, it even further reduces gloss when added together with a matting agent.

AFCONA-3238 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
