AFCONA-3280 can be added at any stage of production process. However high shear force is needed if added in letdown stage due to the defoaming properties. For easier incorporation, dilute to 10% in any solvent/s.
- Addition and Dosage
0.05 – 0.50% on total formulation. In general, under normal conditions, the dosage is 0.05 – 0.2% based on total formulation.

AFCONA-3280 is a special modified polysiloxane where it soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones, insoluble in water. This special modified polysiloxane do not cause intercoat adhesion problems even without sanding. Due to the special modification, it even gives better hot water resistance than other polyether modified Polysiloxanes.
AFCONA-3280 improves the general surface characteristics and in particularly the following advantages will be gain.
1) improved leveling and surface smoothness
2) moderate slip performance
3) No intercoat adhesion problems even without sanding
4) acts as a defoamer and de-aeration aid, no inner bubble problems in PU Coatings
5) avoids the formation of Bénard cells (antifloating effect)
AFCONA – 3280 especially is recommended for the following coating systems:
1) stoving enamels based on alkyd-, acrylicor polyester resins
2) Acid curing and PU wood coatings especially for dipping, curtain coater process and high porous wood substrates
3) self-leveling epoxy flooring compounds 4) UV-curing inks and coatings

AFCONA-3280 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
