AFCONA-4016 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4016 is a polymeric dispersant principally developed for stabilizing inorganic pigments like TiO2, Iron oxides and matting agents. It could also stabilize organic pigments and the performance is better than AFCONA – 4010 or AFCONA 4009 in organic and carbon black. It can be used in almost all solvent-based coating systems due to it very good compatibility with almost all resins.
The special properties and recommended systems for AFCONA – 4016 as below:
1) Due to it lower price comparing to AFCONA – 4050, AFCONA – 4016 are often use in price sensitive system like drum paint, NC and unsaturated polyester.
2) AFCONA – 4016 also have good compatibility with CAB and Thermoplastic acrylic. Thus also suitable for refinish paint where price is a concern. However for this system our AFCONA – 4200 or AFCONA – 4077 are much better choice.
3) AFCONA – 4016 can be used as co-grinding dispersant in mill bases. It also can act as post adding additive for correction of flooding and floating effects.
4) AFCONA-4016 has been developed as a general dispersing agent for all solvent-based paints from high performance industrial coatings to normal decorative paints. It has very good pigment stability performance on inorganic pigments and some selected organic pigments.
Note: AFCONA – 4016 will become slightly hazy at temperature 5°C and below, but this will not influent the quality.

AFCONA-4016 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
