Calculation method for the required amount of AFCONA-4046 on pigment:
- TiO2 : 2 - 3%
- Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%
- Organic pigments : 20 - 40%
- Carbon blacks : 20 - 60%

AFCONA-4046 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4046 is a very effective polymeric dispersant for stabilizing inorganic and organic pigments as well as carbon blacks. It has very good stability performance, through effective steric hindrance, on all type of pigments.
This results in: - improved gloss and DOI - reduced flooding problems - higher color strength - lower viscosity AFCONA – 4046 has below special properties and recommended in below systems:
1) AFCONA – 4046 is compatible with almost all solvent-based resins
2) AFCONA – 4046 mainly is used in industrial paints such as baking paints, epoxies, UPE’s, polyurethanes and other resin systems that need very good pigment stability.
3) AFCONA – 4046 is also widely used as dispersant in preparation of universal pigment concentrates. For these we recommend the combination with the universal resin, AFCONA – 1102. AFCONA – 1102 gives better pigment wetting and compatibility than any other universal resin available in the market.
Note: AFCONA – 4046 will become slightly hazy at temperature 5°C and below, but this will not influent the quality.

AFCONA-4046 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
