AFCONA-5051 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments

Calculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:
- Transparent iron Oxides : 10 – 20%
- TiO2 :2 - 3%
- Other inorganic pigments :2 - 4%

AFCONA-5051 is a dispersant mainly developed for dispersing and stabilizing transparent iron oxide pigments.
This results in:- Optimum transparency
- Higher color strength
- Flocculation stability
- Lower viscosity
- Better storage stability
AFCONA-5051 could also be used as a dispersant for other inorganic pigments and extenders, where it reduces the viscosity in the dispersion. Therefor it is very useful in high filled systems. AFCONA-5051 differs from AFCONA-5251, by the solvents content. This makes this product in area with temperatures below 5°C easier in handling AFCONA-5051 is recommended for manufacturing of resin free pigment or resin containing iron oxide pigment concentrates for decorative as well as for industrial paints. Very stable concentrates could be formulated.

Note: AFCONA – 5051 will become slightly hazy at temperatures 5° C. This will not influence the quality and do not need re-heating.

AFCONA-5051 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
