- Agronomic Benefits of Calcium
Calcium is the most important structural nutrient, as it contributes to the formation of plant tissues of both the plant and the fruit.
It directly influences the quality of the fruits, giving them firmness, consistency and hardness and improving their preservation and behavior during handling and transport. It prevents malformations, accelerated maturation and the attack of post-harvest pathogens.
It acts as a salinity corrector in the wet bulb, since it displaces the Na+ from the exchange complex, thus eliminating its toxicity.
