Aipol Spa APAN

Aipol Spa APAN is a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) pellet, produced through “reactive extrusion” in the Aipol plant of Montegranaro. The TPUs combine the high technical properties of the polyurethane elastomers, to the possibility of processing through a termoplastic technology. A bridge between rubber and traditional thermoplastics.

Polymer Name: Thermoplastic Polyurethane (unspecified)

Processing Methods: Blow Molding, Extrusion, Injection Molding

End Uses: Belts/Belt Repair, Cables, Film, Footwear, Gaskets, Hoses, Soft Touch Applications, Wheels

    Product Highlights

Performance: Very few are the available materials that can guarantee the APAN physical properties: tensile strenght, abrasion resistance, cut and scratch resistance, low temperatures properties, elasticity and flexural strength, flex life, oil and chemicals resistance, impact strenght, dimensional stability, electrical conductibility, hardness from 60 ShA up to 70 ShD also plasticizers free, easy blending with other polymers, adhesion with other materials, etc.

Process: The APANs can be processed with the equipment generally used for the thermoplastics, as injection molding, extrusion and blow molding. Any project can be quickly developed, without technical limitations, for a dynamic approach, closer to the market. Coloring with masterbatches is a realible and easy process. The material is easily weldable and bondable. The objects produced can be easily painted, and combined with itself, and with many other materials, like thermoplastics, leather, wood, etc.

Elastomers: The APAN TPUs are high performance elastomers. All grades are very elastic, with good strength and memory, also at low temperatures. With the softer ones, the objects have slip resistances and pleasant tactile properties (soft touch).

Surface: The aesthetical aspect of the products made by APAN, is assured by a perfect surface definition. Shiny and mat effects are possible. Transparent or amber grades are available. Different colors and special effects are realizables.

Ecocompatible: The APAN products have high resistance to and tear, and to physical and chemical agents. So, they are very “durable”, and contribute to the resources safeguard. APAN TPUs are phtalates, halogens and tin free. As all the thermoplastic materials the APAN TPUs are easily recyclable.
