Passiflora Extract
"For nutraceutical use, Alchem offers Passiflora Extract with all its inherent benefits"Passiflora incarnata, commonly known as maypop, purple passionflower, true passionflower, wild apricot, and wild passion vine, is a fast growing perennial vine with climbing or trailing stems. A member of the passionflower genus Passiflora, the maypop has large, intricate flowers with prominent styles and stamens. Passionflower contains several active constituents, including the flavonoids apigenin, luteolin, quercetin, kaempferol, and vitexin. The harman alkaloids identified in passionflower include harmine, harmaline, harmalol, harman, and harmin. Other constituents include maltol and ethyl maltol. This extract exhibits sedative, hypnotic, anxiolytic, analgesic, and antispasmodic effects.
