In order to overcome this problem, we have adapted the shape of the cell to ideally make it a circle. This was also our first geometry chosen for the FleXell , but its realization was rather complex. After analysis and simulation of several geometries, we opted for the compromise of the fish scale shape. This shape, in addition to its originality and elegance, allows, thanks to the increase or decrease in the distance between two fixed points respectively on the upper face and on the lower face of the honeycomb panel to obtain an overall deformation which has become synclastic. .. our objective. For example, it is possible to cover a dome, cylinder or cone with FleXell .

  • The need for deformability of the honeycomb panel (we can no longer really speak of a honeycomb ...) requires thin walls and good flexibility. Our know-how consists in determining the materials to be used in order to combine the deformation to be obtained and the mechanical performance to be preserved.
  • Currently, we limit our supply of FleXell to the sole diameter 70mm (diameter inscribed in the cell, ie tangent to all the walls).
