Alland & Robert Acacia Gum comes from an exudation of Acacia trees after the incision of their stems and branches. Acacia gum is not a tree sap, or a resin, it is a tree exudate. From a chemical perspective, acacia gum is a complex non starch polysaccharide with a small fraction of protein.

Alland & Robert Karaya gum is a non starch polysaccharide. Also commonly named “Sterculia” or E416, karaya gum is collected on Sterculia trees in Africa and India. It is not tree sap, it is a natural tree exudate. Then it is cleaned and dried before being processed in Alland & Robert facilities.
