ALLIGARE® DOWNFORCE

1 of 12 products in this brand
Alligare Downforce is engineered to improve deposition of pesticide applications by maximizing the number of spray droplets within the ideal size range for drift reduction and canopy penetration. The degree of drift hazard varies with the type of pesticide, application conditions and the vegetation near the treated area. Alligare Downforce is intended to be a management tool that will improve deposition and help to reduce drift of the active ingredient in the spray solution away from the target surface. Wind tunnel testing has shown that when CP™11TT type nozzles are used with Alligare Downforce in aerial spraying, a more uniform droplet size range is generated that will enhance the delivery of the active ingredient throughout the layers of the canopy. Alligare Downforce does not produce large spray droplets like other polymer drift products. Internal cohesion of the components helps to prevent droplet shearing into fines which move off-target into sensitive areas.

Applications & Uses

Directions for Use

Follow the recommendations of the most restrictive active ingredient label.

Tank mixtures should only be applied within the label recommendations of every product in the tank mixture.

May be used in aquatic applications; consult the relevant aquatic herbicide for recommendations on use rates.

If the pesticide does not specify the use of a deposition aid and drift control agent, follow the directions below. Use only if a deposition aid and drift control agent are allowed or not excluded on the label.

Alligare Downforce may be applied through direct injection systems when pumped with proper amount of water. Do not pre-mix with emulsifiable concentrates or aqueous solutions.

Note: When combining new or unfamiliar components in any tank mix, the applicator should conduct phytotoxicity and jar tests to ensure compatibility and avoid damage to non-targeted species.

Order of addition
In general, follow the W-A-L-E-S plan when adding herbicides to a tank mix.

  1. Wettable Powders (WP) then Flowables (F, DF)
  2. Agitate then add adjuvants such as anti-foaming compounds, buffers
  3. Liquid and Soluble products
  4. Emulsifiable concentrates (EC)
  5. Surfactants or other adjuvants

Prior to mixing you should fill your spray tank with half of the carrier you intend to use, usually water. Then start the sprayer and check to make sure that all valves and gages work and that you have proper tank agitation.
