Bee pollen is the male germ cells of flowering plants that bees collect. The bees mix these with their nectar and saliva, resulting in the pollen granules we are familiar with. The pollen granules are stripped from the bees' pollen panties by a pollen trap at the entry hole of the beehive and then collected and dried by the beekeeper. The granulate is an important source of fat and protein, rich in trace elements, essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Pollen is an important part of the bee's diet.
