Dermol L-45 is a naturally derived emollient-humectant made from the mild lactic acid (alpha hydroxy acid). The free hydroxyl groups on both the glycerol and lactic acid help facilitate the spreadability and solubility of Dermol L-45 in both polar and nonpolar solvents. In addition, Dermol L-45’s penetrative power is of value in hydro-alcoholic systems such as colognes, after shaves and body lotions. It also yields a rich, velvety emolliency to numerous cosmetic formulations including hand lotions, sunscreens and lipsticks.
