Dermol M-27, a triester of linear saturated fatty acid, resembles the structure of natural vegetable oil with the consistency of cocoa butter without the presence of unsaturation, which causes rancidity. Because of its low melting point, it liquefies easily on the skin and imparts a nonoily, silky and velvety feel. The unique properties of Dermol M-27 lend themselves for use in numerous cosmetic applications such as creams, lotions, colognes and after-shaves. It also couples various ingredients including perfumes, colors and sunscreen agents into vegetable and mineral oil.
