Dermol PGB, an emollient ester/solvent from propylene glycol and benzoic acid gives it a unique solvency, plasticizing and detackifying power beneficial for solubilizing resins, waxes, polymers, benzophenones and other sunscreens. It is also useful as a plasticizer and solubilizer for hair sprays and nail enamels. The free hydroxyl group enhaces the spreadability, while the aromatic ring enhances its solvency power. Also, other suggested applications for Dermol PGB include greaseless creams, vanishing creams, lotions and makeup removers.
