Necon BAB is a behenlamidopropyl dimethyl amine complexed with behenic acid. It is derived from a natural source (rape seed oil). The combination of the moieties has a carbon chain length of 44, which makes it an excellent conditioner. Because Necon BAB is cationic, it is very substantive and forms a monomolecular layer on the substrate. Some of the commonly recommended applications include skin creams and lotions, hair care products such as shampoos and hair conditioners, shaving creams, liquid soaps and soap bars. It can also be used as a cationic emulsifier.
