American Biosystems Multicel 250

American Biosystems Multicel 250 is a special cellulase preparation useful for a variety of industrial and agricultural applications including native fiber digestion in textile applications, fiber dewatering/filtration, and cellulosic material degradation. Unlike many commercially available cellulases, this product possess a broad pH range of activity and action patterns suitable for use on all types of modified and native cellulosic material. Multicel is designed for a wide variety of animal feed and industrial applications. These products have a wide pH spectrum of activity and do not require acidic pH adjustment for optimal activity. This enzyme is derived from a non-GMO fermentation of Trichoderma viridae.

Purpose
  • As a highly concentrated source of hydrolytic enzymes including cellulase, hemi-cellulase, xylanase with other side activities also present. This product is useful in waste treatment applications and in compounds for industrial cleaning and maintenance. Agricultural applications include the liberation of bioavailable nutrients present in cellulosic forages and feed ingredients. Multicel provides a broad spectrum of fungal cellulases and provides a very high degree of stability useful for many fiber processing applications. Unlike many other cellulase preparations Multicel does not require acidic pH adjustment for optimal activity.
  • Multicel is compatible with a variety of surfactants and detergent compounds and has very good stability in alkaline and diluted aqueous solution.

Applications & Uses

Uses

As a concentrated source of cellulose degrading enzymes such as cellulase, xylanase, and beta-glucanase for use in enzyme feed additives. Typical applications include releasing bound water fromadsorbent gums, filtration improvement, viscosity reduction, degradation and modification of solublegums and fiber, and freeing materials from enveloping cellulosic matrices. Cellulase can beused for either partial or complete hydrolysis, depending on dosage and conditions.
