American Biosystems Phytase 100000

Phytase 100,000 is designed to be used in a variety of feed, aquaculture and waste treatment applications. Phytase is a feed grade component used to digest phytic acid into components including ortho=phosphate and inositol. It is also useful in a variety of industrial processes and waste treatment applications. Phytase when used as a feed enzyme is designed specifically to improve the availability of phosphorus from plant sources. Phytase is derived from a strain of Pichia pastoris through a proprietary cultivation and extraction technique. It can degrade phytic acid into inositol, or phosphoinositide and phosphoric acid. This product can eliminate the monogastric animal anti-nutrient action due to non-decomposition of phytic acid so as to improve the utility of nutrition. This enzyme also reduces the environmental pollution caused by the use of phosphorus.

Purpose

Phytase 100,000 is recommended to be added in feed not being pelleted because of the labile nature of the product above 70°C. Research is continuing on a heat stable version. Based on research in the literature, the product should work best when added 500-1,000 grams per metric ton of finished feed to standard corn/soy rations. Levels with other feedstuffs should be determined experimentally. These recommendations should be used as a guideline to develop a feeding program using Phytase. The product can be mixed with a variety of other digestive feed enzymes to produce a custom formulated product. These include cellulase, Mannanase, xylanase or hemi-cellulase. This also can be included into our COMBO Enzyme Blend product to provide a full spectrum feeding solution at an economical price.

Applications & Uses

Animal Species
Uses

Phytase can be used in animal diets when the phytate content of the diet is more than 0.2%. Generally, there is more than .2% phytate in the corn-soybean diets. Addition of Phytase in diets can release 0.1-0.12% available phytate bound phosphorus for laying poultry or broiler poultry, which means 5-6 Kg DCP (16% P in DCP) per ton will be saved.
