American Polyfilm is a family-owned and operated Polyurethane Film Manufacturer located in Branford, Connecticut. Since our founding in 1998, we have developed our expertise in producing made-to-order blown polyurethane films, Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU films) from 1 mil (25µ) to 40 mil (1mm) and up to 82” (2m) wide. We produce aromatic polyester and polyether TPU plastic films as well as aliphatic TPU films. As TPU material manufacturers, we offer reduced lead times and small minimum-order quantities. We also have the capacity to fill large orders.

American Polyfilm Polyether TPU Film products function very well in applications requiring direct contact with human skin. Offering a high resistance to skin oils, Polyether TPUs have high Moisture Vapor Transmission Rates (MVTR), maintain their flexibility in low temperature environments, and can withstand prolonged exposure to high-humidity environments without degradation. Polyether urethanes weld easily, have softer non-plastic feel, and will not support fungal growth. One common use is for polyether polyurethane pneumatic bladders and spill containment. Very often Polyether Films are used in multi-layer laminations as an adhesive layer or a barrier layer. Polyether sheet products can be used in many types of applications as our TPU films are very versatile.

American Polyfilm Polyether TPU Film

American Polyfilm Breathable TPU Film is a specialty TPU product as an unsupported film on rolls. From this form, the TPU sheet film can have adhesive and liner applied or can be die cut to specification. Our Breathable Film also performs well in laminations to produce breathable textiles. Because Polyurethane Film is monolithic, it creates a liquid barrier. This is a distinct advantage over other breathable products that are microporous, which means they have tiny holes in the film allowing moisture vapor through.

American Polyfilm Breathable TPU Film

American Polyfilm Polyester TPU Film is the workhorse of polyurethane films. It offers excellent strength and long-term stability. When heated, Polyester Polyurethane acts as an adhesive and can be used for emblems in industrial laundry, textile labeling, and ID systems applications. It can also be used as a protective layer to prevent the scratching of delicate parts in metal bending and machine shop applications. Other uses include polyester polyurethane fuel bladders and pneumatic bladders.

American Polyfilm Polyester TPU Film

American Polyfilm Antimicrobial TPU Film product is an unsupported TPU film on rolls. From this form, the TPU film can have adhesive and liner applied or can be die cut to specification. The antimicrobial additive is compatible with all of our resins, so we are able to offer antimicrobial grades of several of our most popular films. Our Antimicrobial Polyurethane Film also performs well in laminations, medical applications, and athletic and outdoor apparel.

American Polyfilm Antimicrobial TPU Film

American Polyfilm Aliphatic TPU Film offers excellent optical clarity. It is often used in laminated glass, protective covers for road signs, and in applications where TPU film is needed for protection or to provide strength to a product without interfering with its appearance. Aliphatic Urethane materials are highly UV stable and very suitable for outdoor applications.
