Technical Details & Test Data
- Challenges For Cognitive Performance
We live in an ever-accelerating world with a competitive business environment and rising requirements both in a professional and private context. Cognitive performance and stress coping behavior are among the key factors for keeping the pace with the increasing challenges of today. There are many elements that can affect cognitive performance. Especially the ability to accomplish several tasks at the same time is needed nowadays. For example driving a vehicle while being distracted by holding a conversation. Evidence clearly shows that driving while carrying out another task like talking, compromises driving performance, with a growing complexity of the verbal task intensifying this result.
- Inhibition of the Enzymes PDE-4 And MAO-B
Investigations on green oat extract on two test systems namely phospodiesterase 4 (PDE-4) and monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) showed an inhibitory effect on both enzymes. Those enzymes play a crucial role in mental health and cognition.
- Inhibition of PDE-4: Effect on neuronal signaling
- Inhibition of MAO-B: Enhanced availability of neurotransmitters (e.g. serotonin and dopamine)
- Efficacy
A clinical study with 126 healthy adults aged 35-65 years demonstrated that both a single dose and a 29 day supplementation of cognitaven® resulted in improvements in cognitive function. It is noteworthy that cognitaven® showed significant effects in multitasking settings which could be conceived as mirroring the cognitive demands of numerous everyday situations.
