Anvil Paints 990005 ROOF-TEC 100% SILICON 5G is 100% silicone based single part roof coating that creates barrier that is resistant to natural weathering. Durable, breathable, watertight and weatherproof. Can be applied over spray applied polyurethane foam, EPDM, PVC, aged acrylic coatings, concrete, asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, and metal roofs.

Product Highlights
  • Asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, smooth modified bitumen and aluminum coated roofs may require ANVIL 9950 2-Part Epoxy Primer for increased adhesion and/or asphalt bleed through resistance.
  • On single-ply roofs, 9950 must also be used to increase long term adhesion in areas that retain water.

Application
  • Apply only when temperatures are above 50º F and when humidity is below 70% for the next 6 rain free hours.
  • Do not thin product.
  • Apply at package consistency, do not thin.
  • Apply with roller or airless sprayer.
  • Airless pump at 7,000 psi rating, delivering 1 to 2 gallon per minute using spray tip of .027-.040. The hose should be at least 1/2” diameter with gun filters removed.
  • Allow 2-4 hours between coats.
  • Two or three full coats at the rate of 100 sq. ft. per gallon,16 mils WFT, are needed for proper sealing. Apply each coat perpendicular to the last.

Cleanup : Mineral spirits.

Directions For Use and Surface Preparation
  • All surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, dust, rust, mildew and other surface contaminants.
  • Remove contaminants by sandblasting, high-pressure water blasting or mechanical methods. Follow appropriate safety guidelines and wear proper protective equipment and clothing.
  • Rinse with water and let dry completely.
  • Substrate must be dry at time of applying primer and subsequent coating.

Safety Measures

Warning! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. Lead is toxic. Exposure to lead dust can cause serious illness, such as brain damage. Especially in children. Pregnant women should also avoid exposure. Wear an NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure.

  • To avoid breathing vapors and spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying.
  • If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air.
  • A dust mask does not provide protection against vapors.
  • Use only with adequate ventilation.
  • Wash thoroughly after handling.
  • Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop.
  • KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
  • KEEP FROM FREEZING

FIRST AID: In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If any product remains, gently rub petroleum jelly, vegetable or mineral/baby oil onto skin, then wash again with soap and water. Repeated applications may be needed. Remove contaminated clothing. For eye contact, flush immediately with large amounts of water, for at least 15 minutes. If swallowed, get medical attention immediately. If inhalation causes physical discomfort, move to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs, get medical help.
