Easily applied and containing over 90% zinc metal, Galve Cote may be used as a shop primer or coating for steel pipes and fabrications and may be top-coated with chlorinated rubber paints, acrylic, cellulose, alkyd, P.U-alkyd or epoxy materials or virtually any other single pack system. GALVE COTE S aerosol is especially recommended for smaller areas. Aerosol GALVE COTE is also ideal for patching work, such as after new welding of galvanized section or otherwise where galvanizing has been stripped. Effective GALVE COTE will protect coated metal from corrosion even in demanding environments, such as coastal or off-shore. Ideal for use on structural steelwork, tankage, harbor installations, jetty piling, roofs and gutters. In this case, Galve Cote will effectively renew original galvanizing.

Application

Bulk Product: May be applied by (preferably) airless spray, conventional spray or, for small patches only, by brush. Read our Technical Specification Sheet (Ref. TI-Galve Cote) for full preparation and application details. Theoretical coverage at the rates recommended for airless spray will be 16.8 to 8.4 m² per liter. Aerosol Product: Shake the can until the agitator can be heard moving freely, then for a further minute at least. Spray from 25-30cm on to the surface, using a series of light coats to build up the required thickness. Allow 2-4 hours drying before over-coating.
