Zinc and Its Significance: Zinc plays a significant role in the plant organism in regulation of nucleic acid metabolism. It also plays a role in metabolism of amino acids and proteins; it also directly impacts the creation of growth hormones – auxins and takes part in glucose metabolism. In the case of its deficiency the chloroplast functions are damaged and the intensity of photosynthesis is reduced. A deficit is manifested mainly in the young parts of the plant – formation of a leaf rosette with narrow, small leaves which are pale green and asymmetrical.
