Geogard Ultra® is a patented natural broad spectrum preservative, consisting of a synergistic blend of Gluconolactone (CAS: 90-80-2) and Sodium Benzoate (CAS: 532-32-1). The synergy between these two ingredients makes this preservative unique, allowing for its broad spectrum efficacy. Geogard Ultra® benefits from a wide range of global regulatory acceptance, is easy to formulate and is ECOCERT/COSMOS accepted, NATRUE and Soil Association approved.Often organic acids require a co-preservative or an additional booster to provide an optimal performance, as they are too weak on their own. In this blend, the Gluconolactone (polyhydroxy acid or PHA) works in conjunction with the sodium benzoate to perform as an efficient preservative booster. The gluconolactone works by slowly releasing gluconic acid over time, which helps contribute to the preservation effect.

Mikrokill® COS is a unique and trusted combination of three well-accepted personal care components in phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin and caprylyl glycol, providing exceptional broad spectrum protection of many personal care products encompassing skin care, hair care and sun care systems.

Isocil® PC is a combination of two commonly used personal care preservatives, Methyl chloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone (MI/CMI). These traditional preservatives have been used for years offering excellent broad spectrum efficacy at low use levels. With the added benefit of a strong safety profile as well as toxicological data, this chemistry is appealing amongst many formulators.

Based on Iodopropynyl butyl carbamate (IPBC), the Glycacil® range provides an effective paraben replacement for a personal care formulations. Glycacil® is compatible and easy to use, providing preservation at low incorporation levels. Highly active against fungal growth, over a wide pH range.

Lonza’s proven preservatives, Glydant® and Glydant® 2000 , have been used for decades to preserve a variety of personal care products. Glydant® and Glydant® 2000 are compatible over a wide pH range and stable in most formulations. A low use level combined with strong efficacy makes these cost-effective and reliable preservative choices. Specifically, Glydant® 2000 has an ultra-low free formaldehyde content of <0.09% thereby avoiding the H350 phrase in Europe.

Spectradyne™ is an effective cationic cosmetic preservative based on the proven active ingredient Chlorhexidine Digluconate, also known as CHG . This low-foaming ingredient can be used in hand and body wash, cosmetics and other personal care applications to provide strong antibacterial protection.
