APOC® 290 Secure Prime™ Self-Adhered Membrane Primer is a resin based primer for use in promoting superior adhesion to various surfaces. APOC 290 can be applied to wood decks, metal, gypsum, existing roof membranes and aged concrete surfaces. APOC® 290 penetrates and provides a superior bonding surface for the application of SA (self adhered) membranes and prior to coatings over porous and difficult to adhere surfaces.

Preparation

Surfaces with mildew growth or stains must be cleaned with a bleach solution (2 parts water to one part bleach) prior to applying this product. Rinse thoroughly. Surfaces previously coated with aluminum should be allowed to cure for a minimum of one summer season prior to coating with this product.

For Best Results : Ensure product is thoroughly dry prior to application of SA membrane or coatings

Application

For exterior use only.

  • Protective clothing, gloves, and eyewear should be used during application of this product.
  • Always apply on a clear, warm sunny day.
  • Apply in morning hours to allow maximum cure time.
  • Temperatures must be above 50 °F (for 24 hours) and rising, but not above 110 °F. Drying conditions are rated at a maximum relative humidity of 50%.
  • Apply with a 1/4” nap exterior paint roller or professional airless sprayer.
  • Allow to cure for 2 - 4 hours at 77 °F & 50% relative humidity. Higher humidity, thicker films, poor air flow and lower temperatures will increase dry times.
  • Coverage rate is approximately 1 gallon per 300 - 400 square feet.

Clean-up: Clean tools with soap and water.
