Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • Styrene Butadiene Rubber is made from cold polymerization of styrene and butadiene monomers through low-temperature emulsification polymerization and has similar characteristics to natural rubber.
  • It is a general-purpose rubber and is produced in the largest volume of any synthetic rubber.
  • SBR 1500 is light-colored and non-staining.
  • This is the highest volume general-purpose synthetic rubber.
  • It is very weak unless reinforcing fillers are incorporated. With suitable fillers, it is a strong rubber, although not approaching natural rubber or polychloroprene. Otherwise, it has similar chemical and physical properties to natural rubber, with generally better abrasion resistance but poorer fatigue resistance.
Characteristics
  • Good resilience
  • Good compression set
  • Fair to good heat aging
  • Good to excellent abrasion resistance
  • Fair tear strength
  • Poor flame retardant properties
  • Poor weathering characteristics
  • Fair oxidation resistance
  • Poor ozone resistance
  • Poor oil resistance
  • Fair to good acid resistance
  • Fair to good resistance to alkali substances

Packing

SKMS-30 ARKM-15 is produced in 30kg briquettes, wrapped in marked polyethylene film and four-layer craft bags. The briquettes are packed in wooden pallets of about 450kg net weight.

Storage & Handling

Storage

The rubber should be stored away from direct sunlight and atmospheric precipitation. Storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
