ATTIKA Company Logo
ATTSHIELD 41 is a bisphenol epoxy vinyl ester resin that resists corrosion in acidic and moderately alkaline environments. This tough, high strength resin can be used to make fiberglass reinforced laminates with excellent impact resistance, and it is ideal for winding applications that require resistance to harsh environments and thermal cycling. This resin has excellent wettability and curing properties as well.

Resin Use

ATTSHIELD 41 resin is designed for use with a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKPO) initiator system. It can also be used with benzoyl peroxide (BPO). CRV-9100M is extremely sensitive to the content of the RP-V promoter. If the gel time needs to be adjusted, then the dosage of RP-V promoter must be controlled to speed it up or slow it down. Maintenance of MEKPO catalyst level 0.8% -1.5%. During curing, CRV-9100M is also sensitive to temperature changes. For best results, the use of less than 0.7% MEKPO catalyst is not recommended. If a long gel time is required at high ambient temperature, then the RP-V level of the promoter should be maintained at 0.6-1.0%, and the MEKPO level should be maintained at 0.7%-1.2%. If a longer gel time is needed, it can be adjusted using a 10% solution of tert-butyl catechin. At an ambient temperature below 15℃, may need to add additional dimethylaniline.

Safety & Health

Safety
  • Store below 25 ℃ in order to maintain optimum resin properties, and avoid exposure

Heat sources such as direct sunlight, steam or flames.

  • Keep containers sealed to prevent moisture absorption or monomer loss.
  • Do not add metal salts (promoters) or promoted resins to the peroxide.
  • Do not add organic peroxides to hot diluent
