- Features
- The varnish is intended for top semi-matte transparent coatings of wood for outdoor and indoor environments.
- It creates a permanent, protective, abrasion-resistant layer that protects the wood from weathering.
- It shows good sandability, high UV resistance, abrasion resistance and water resistance.
- The varnish has an anti-slip certificate.
- The varnish is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed and drinking water and for coatings of children's furniture and toys.
- The varnish can be used for coating products and surfaces that come into indirect contact with food and feed.
- Effective semi-matt look
- Water and UV resistant
- Anti-slip certificate
Applications & Uses
- Applications
- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Fields of Application
- Background: wood, fiberboard, metal
- Environment: interior
- Examples: parquets, planks, cork floors, chipboard floors, wall and ceiling coverings, beams, concrete floors, stairs, masonry, insides of metal tanks, concrete sumps, etc.
- Dilution
S 6006 (especially for washing tools)
- Preparation of the Substrate
- Before application, the wood must be clean, dry, well sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%.
- Wood with increased content of resins (larch, pine) should be freed from all resin spills with thinner C 6000.
- The final appearance of the coating and its service life depend on the quality of the pre-treatment of the wood.
- Prime the wood surface first with diluted epoxy varnish to ensure uniform absorption of the substrate.
- Then sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper, then apply the final layers of epoxy varnish.
- The metal substrate must be clean, dry, free of grease, rust and dust, mechanically cleaned.
- During renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove old non-stick coatings from the wood and ensure good strength of the substrate (when the old coating is completely removed, the new coating is applied gradually, including impregnation of the wood).
- It is recommended to follow the entire coating system according to the manufacturer's catalog sheet.
- Application Conditions
- During the application period and throughout the drying period, the minimum air and substrate temperature must be 10°C, and the maximum 35°C.
- The optimal temperature for applying the paint is 18°C to 23°C and relative humidity 40 to 70%.
- Lower temperature and higher relative humidity during application and drying and too thick layer of the applied film significantly slow down the drying and hardening of the paint film.
- High relative air humidity and increased humidity of wood or masonry cause defects in the paint film.
- The type, surface and possibly previous coating of the wood affect the resulting shade of the coating.
- Natural wood changes color under the influence of light, independent of varnish.
- In the case of exotic types of wood, due to the influence of the varnish on the resulting shade of the wood, it is advisable to test the varnish on a small area first.
- Work Progress
- Before use, the varnish is mixed with the hardener S 7300 in the prescribed ratio, properly mixed and diluted as necessary.
- It is applied to a previously prepared base.
Transparent Wood Coating:
- 1x epoxy varnish epolex wood varnish S 1300 diluted with thinner for a flow time from the cup of 15-25 s (add 15-20% by weight to the hardened mixture), drying 24 h / 23°C.
- Light sanding with sandpaper No. 280-320 and removal of the cloth.
- 1x epoxy varnish epolex wood varnish S 1300, drying 24 h.
- Sanding with sandpaper No. 320 and removing the cloth
- 1x epolex wood paint S 1300 epoxy paint.
- Drying and curing of the paint can be accelerated (if the painted substrate allows it) by drying at an elevated temperature, e.g. at 60°C for 60 minutes, at 80°C for 45 minutes, at 100°C for 30 minutes.
- The coating can be sanded and polished with sanding paste and polish.
- Method of Application
