Characteristics
  • Primer S 2000 is a basic anti-corrosion paint that contains zinc phosphate anti-corrosion pigment and is intended for effective anti-corrosion protection of steel and cast iron surfaces in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Does not contain heavy metals.
  • It is especially suitable for synthetic air-drying enamels.
  • It is characterized by very fast drying and good coverage.
  • In shade 0100 white, the color is also suitable for protective coatings of wooden elements due to its good sandability.

Applications & Uses

Application Method
Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Use
  • Primer S 2000 is suitable as a primer for the coating system of e.g. metal castings, metal constructions, fencing, gates, etc.
  • The white shade is also intended for coating wooden windows, doors, wooden furniture and fiber boards.
  • The paint is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed and drinking water and for coatings of children's furniture and toys.
Preparation of the Substrate

Metal:

  • The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, rust and dust, mechanically cleaned.
  • First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. white spirit P 6402, acetone P 6401 or, where possible, warm pressurized water containing detergent).
  • In order to possibly remove the remains of various salts, the surface must be rinsed with clean water.
  • Coarse and well-adherent dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (by grinding, scraping).
  • Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, grinding wheels).
  • The ideal preparation of the steel and cast iron substrate is blasting to Sa 2 ½ according to SN EN ISO 8501-1.
  • Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased and free of old non-stick coatings.
  • To ensure the compatibility of the new coating with the old one, it is recommended to carry out a test reference coating.
  • It is recommended to follow the entire coating system according to the manufacturer's catalog sheet.

Wood:

  • Before application, the wood must be clean, dry, well sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues.
  • Wood with an increased content of resins (larch, pine) must first be freed of all resin spills, e.g. by washing with nitro thinner C 6000.
  • The overall appearance of the final surface treatment of the wood, as well as the overall life of the coating system, depends on the quality of the wood pretreatment.
  • The surface of the wood must first be impregnated with a suitable impregnating agent, which ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate and higher protection of the wood (in the case of using a fungicidal impregnating agent, protection against the attack of fungi, fungi and insects).
  • Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the base color to the wood.
  • During renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove old non-stick coatings from the wood and ensure good strength of the substrate (when the old coating is completely removed, the new coating is applied gradually, including impregnation of the wood).
  • An imperfectly prepared surface can cause problems with the adhesion of the paint to the substrate or with the adhesion between the individual layers. In addition, it can negatively affect the overall appearance of the paint film.
Example of a Coating Procedure
  • Before use, the paint is mixed and diluted with the recommended thinner as needed.

Coating / Metal Spraying:

  • 1x to 2x coating (spray) with Primer S 2000 paint, drying of the coating for 24 hours.
  • Optimal thickness of one layer 30-40 µm.
  • Sanding with sandpaper No. 280;
  • 1x to 2x coating (spray) with Industrit S 2013 enamel.
  • The optimal thickness of one layer is 30-35 µm. Individual coatings with enamel, it must dry for at least 24 hours (20°C)
  • When applying by spraying, problematic areas (corners, edges, welds, surface defects) are first treated with a so-called strip coating with a brush, and only after this coating has set, the entire surface is sprayed (including problematic areas that have already been painted).

Coating of the Absorbent Base:

  • 1x impregnation with Lazurol Impregnation primer S1033, drying 24 hours
  • 1x to 2x coating (spray) with Primer S 2000 paint, drying of the coating for 24 hours. Optimal thickness of one layer 30-40 µm.
  • Grinding with sandpaper No. 280;
  • 1x to 2x coating (spray) with Industrit S 2013 enamel. The optimal thickness of one layer is 30-35 µm. Individual coatings with enamel, it must dry for at least 24 hours (20°C).
  • The minimum air temperature for application is +5°C, the temperature of the coated substrate must be 3°C above the dew point, while the temperature and relative humidity of the air must be measured near the coated substrate.
  • The substrate temperature must not be higher than +40°C.
  • The relative humidity of the air must not be higher than 75%.
  • The optimal temperature for applying the paint is +15°C to +25°C and relative air humidity 40 – 70%.
  • Lower temperature and higher relative humidity during application and drying and too thick layer of the applied film significantly slow down the drying and hardening of the paint film.
