Product Highlights

Dangerous metabolites (mycotoxins) can develop when grain is infested with fungi, not only in the field phase, but also during storage of the grain. Molds and their mycotoxins can also cause dangerous health problems and performance depression in silage (maize and grass silage). Mycotoxins in feed can cause serious health problems and the Fusarium toxins zearalenone and trichothecene are the most important.

Zearalenon:

Zearalenone also has an estrogenic effect, ie various forms of fertility disorders can occur as a result.

Symptoms and effects:

  • Redness and swelling of the pubic area (up to vaginal prolapse)
  • vaginal discharge
  • perpetual heat
  • abnormal brunch interval
  • false pregnancy
  • Ovarian changes, permanent yellow bodies, ovarian cysts
  • Farrowing, mummified piglets
  • Smaller litters with lower birth weights
  • Increased occurrence of straddle piglets
  • higher losses
  • Redness and swelling of the pubic area and the udder in newborn piglets
  • Increased restlessness, fights, biting, up to cannibalism
  • Reduced mating desire in the boar, poorer semen quality
  • Uterine inflammation, high embryo mortality
  • Inflammation of the udder, high cell count

Trichothecene:

Trichothecenes (including DON) in the feed are highly toxic and cell-damaging.

Symptoms and effects:

  • Decreased feed intake, up to refusal to feed and vomiting
  • Poor feed conversion and daily weight gain
  • inflammation of the mucous membranes
  • bleeding and diarrhea
  • Kidney and liver damage
  • Central nervous disorders
  • Weakening of the body's defenses (immune reaction)
  • Poor vaccination and therapy success
  • Rumen fermentation disorders, less microbial protein
  • Ovarian cysts, inflammation, lameness

Despite proper drying and preservation of grain, toxins formed on the stalk remain. As a rule, diseases can be traced back to mycotoxin mixtures. The analysis of all mycotoxins is difficult or very expensive.

BERGIN ® MS-forte – ingredients & benefits

BERGIN ® MS-forte has been significantly improved:

  • Contains a unique active complex of specific components of the yeast cell wall (glucomannan)

  • Contains an effective dose of natural antioxidants (propyl gallate, tocopherols, citric acid)
  • Contains potassium sorbate as a highly effective preservative

The advantages of BERGIN ® MS-forte:

  • High adsorptive capacity (6 m 2 active surface per g)
  • Broad spectrum of activity
  • Lower use rate per ton of feed (0.5 - 2.0 kg)
  • Very fast effect (< 10 min.)
  • No binding of vitamins and trace elements
  • Works at different pH values
  • Supports the body's defenses against mycotoxin stress

Applications & Uses

Application recommendation for BERGIN ® MS-forte

Depending on the mycotoxin load in the feed, BERGIN ® MS-forte is given to breeding sows, piglets, fattening pigs, gilts, rearing and covering boars as well as laying hens and fattening poultry at 0.5 - 2 kg per ton. fed complete feed.

In the case of mycotoxin contamination in cattle rations:

  • Dairy cows, rearing and fattening cattle:
    feed 10 - 20 g per animal and day
  • in concentrated calf feed:
    1 - 2 kg per t. interfere
  • If there is a risk of mycotoxins in horse rations:
    feed 10 - 20 g per animal and day

BERGIN ® MS-forte – a highly effective tool to minimize the harmful effects of mycotoxins on animals.

Technical Details & Test Data

Important Preventive Measures Against Mycotoxin Damage
  • Grow healthy crops
  • Clean grain (shriveled and broken grain as well as foreign matter often contain toxins), dry carefully and preserve
  • Optimum feed hygiene is particularly important; add preservatives ( BERGO ® Acid / Acid NF , BERGO ® TMR stable / - G ); Avoid or regularly remove feed residues in silos, conveyor systems, machines and troughs
  • If possible, do not feed toxin-contaminated grain to breeding sows and piglets, mix it up in rations for fattening pigs
  • Strengthening the body's defenses
  • Push toxin exposure below the damage threshold with BERGIN ® MS-forte

BERGIN ® MS-forte contains an active ingredient complex made up of specific components of yeast cell walls and functional carbohydrates from a special alga.

A total of 7 functional carbohydrate fractions ensure a broad spectrum of activity. The mycotoxins are "captured" by BERGIN ® MS-forte in the gastrointestinal tract and discharged with the feces.
