- Product Background
- Used since Antiquity, ROMAN CHAMOMILE is highly appreciated for its beneficial medicinal digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. Its botanical name in Greek means “earth” and “apple” in reference to its fruity apple-like scent emitted when crushed. This herbaceous plant tends to grow close to the ground along pathways, where it is often trampled. Growing upright or creeping, roman chamomile has beautiful white petals with a yellow pistil characteristic of the species. The flower’s warm, sweet scent continues to be sought after today.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Floral Waters Manufacturing Process
- Roman chamomile flower water is obtained by steam distillation. During its manufacture, the aromatic compounds contained in roman chamomile flowers are extracted by steam distillation and then recovered by decantation. The use of steam helps extract active plant principles without changing their nature, and without organic solvents or chemical treatments. This environmentally sound process helps preserve the biological properties and olfactory wealth of floral waters. Roman chamomile flower water is truly “active”. Given that water is frequently the main component in cosmetic formulations, it can be fully or partially replaced by floral water to help boost the effectiveness of active ingredients and add a delicate fragrance to your natural formula. These transparent and colorless ingredients are easy to formulate and suitable for all skin types. Available in conventional form, roman chamomile flower water is also offered in organic version.
