We expect the product to be very useful as a bio-based and non-toxic alternative to ethylene glycol/water-based products especially for use in sensitive environments and the food industry. A Swedish patent application was filed in 2020 which was followed up by an international application in 2021.

Biobase Sweden AB BIO-FOMO 2 is a form oil with a viscosity that works for most concrete casting work. The product has been developed for the future to meet the demands on environmental friendliness and independence of fossil resources. The product is odorless and gives an excellent surface finish without discolorations. Works on steel, plastic, plywood, and wood casting form for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. BIO-FOMO range of concrete form oils are one of the few products in the market that does not contain any fossil hydrocarbons. The active formulation gives a thin layer of soap in the contact between wet concrete and the form which prevents sticking.

The product has been developed for the future to meet the demands on environmental friendliness and independence of fossil resources. The biobased product degrades very quickly in the environment. With BIO-FOMO 3 you get a product with excellent release properties especially from vertical surfaces and porous casting form materials like wood and plywood. Also works on steel and plastic casting form for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. BIO-FOMO range of concrete form oils are one of the few products in the market that does not contain any fossil hydrocarbons. The active formulation gives a thin layer of soap in the contact between wet concrete and the form which prevents sticking.
