- Digestive disturbances :The biggest challenge in the piglet production is digestive disturbances (diarrhea), and most problems arise within the fi rst week of life. The intestines of the new-born piglets are very sensitive to nutritional deficiency, and if the intestine does not contain any nutrients it will be damaged. This causes digestive disturbances (diarrhea). Often, the problems in new-born piglets are caused by E. coli. When infected with E. coli, the bacteria adheres to the mucous membranes of the small intestine and multiplies and generates toxic enterotoxins. This causes a largefluid loss as a large part of the body fluids will be transported to the intestine. Other bacteria or viruses may also cause digestive disturbances in piglets. Digestive disturbances increase mortality and will result in unthriving piglets with reduced weight gain, uneven litters and increase the use of antibiotics. It is always important to give a piglet suffering from digestive disturbances electrolytes in order to counteract dehydration.

- BiCando can be used preventively at risk of digestive disturbances.
- BiCando kan be used alone in mild cases of digestive disturbances and in combination with antibiotic treatment in case of severe digestive disturbances.
- If BiCando is used in combination with antibiotic treatment it reduces the, it reduces the harmful effect on the intestinal flora and support a rapid restoration of the natural intestinal flora.
- Dosage
- Dose : 1 dose = 2 pump strokes (4 ml).
- Mild cases : 1-2 times daily for 1-2 days. It could be beneficial to give the dose both in the morning and evening.
- Supplement to antibiotic treatment: 1 dose together with the antibiotic treatment, followed by 1 dose the day after. This will stabilize the intestinal microbiota.
Before usage
BiCando should be administered at a temperature of 20-25ºC. If necessary, warm up the bottle in a water bath. Shake the bottle. Mount the short piece of tube on the pump nozzle and the longer piece on the bottom of the bottle. Mount the pump on the bottle.
After usage
- Clean the pump before it is mounted on a new bottle.
- The bottle should be used within 14 days after opening.

- BiCando contains fibers, which have a positive effect on digestive disturbances in piglets.
- Together with fluid some fibers form a gel, which protects the intestinal villi and lubricates the intestine. Other fibers bind harmful bacteria and toxins that afterwards are excreted with the manure. Furthermore, the fibers have a prebiotic effect as they support the growth of the beneficial intestinal bacteria.
- The electrolytes secure a fast restoration of the fluid and electrolyte balance, so that the piglet is not weakened by dehydration.
- Dextrose and other easily digestible carbohydrates supply the piglet with easily absorbed energy and stimulate the absorption of electrolytes in the intestine.
Fast help
BiCando should be given as soon as possible, before digestive disturbances develop severely, and preferably preventively. It is important to act as soon as possible in order to ensure that the piglet does not die or weakens too much.
Digestive disturbances increase mortality directly as a result of poisoning or fl uid loss. If the piglet survives the digestive disturbance, the weaning weight of the piglet is reduced as it typically occurs during a period in the piglet’s life when the intestine grows strongly.
A severe intestinal infection at this timewill therefore hinder the normal development of the intestine, and it may have an effect on the piglet’s ability to utilize the feed effi ciently and will contribute to increase the variation of the piglets’ weight gain after weaning. Furthermore, it increases the use of medications.

Every time you see a piglet suffering from digestive disturbances (diarrhea), or you treat with an antibiotic, you give the piglet BiCando.
How is BiCando administered?
2 pump strokes of BiCando. Slide the tube into the mouth of the piglet and place it in the back of the oral cavity. If necessary, make a short pause for swallowing between the two pump strokes.
