  • DISEASE CONTROL RootShield Granules provides preventative control of major root diseases including Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Cylidrocladium, and Thielaviopsis species. RootShield Granules controls disease for up to 12 weeks.
  • HEALTHY ROOTS RootShield Granules grows in soils and on roots shielding them against root damaging fungi, promoting healthier roots and increasing root mass potential.
  • INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT RootShield Granules is an effective tool in IPM programs to help manage fungicide resistance.

Applications

APPLICATION NOTES

  • Thoroughly incorporate RootShield Granules during mix preparation or pot filling, or  incorporate into planting beds by raking or tilling.
  • RootShield Granules is compatible with many soils and soilless media including peat-, bark- and coir-based mixes, as well as substrates used in hydroponic growing.

BLEND RATES

  1. Large volume blend rates are 1.25-1.5 lb/yd3 of mix, or a minimum of three 40 lb bags per truckload of mix (100 yds3 ).
  2. If you prefer large-volume custom blending with your media, contact your mix company.
  3. The shelf life of RootShield Granules when blended at 1.5 lb/yd3 is 3 months at below 32 °F, 5 months at 40 °F, 5 months at 70-75 °F, and 2 months or less above 75 °F.

APPLICATION RATES

  • In-furrow soil treatment: 2.5-6 lb/half acre ,Use a metering device to deliver RootShield Granules into the planting furrow.
  • Greenhouse/Nursery Planting Mix: 1-3 lb/yd3 soil mix
  • Small volume rate: 3 Tbsp (25 g)/ft3 of potting soil
  • Container Topdress: See label for rate per container size
  • Nursery Bed Application: 0.5-7.5 lb/1,000 sq.ft. bed Incorporate with rake or tiller.
  • Trees and Shrubs: 0.2-8 oz/transplant hole

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the State or Tribal agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

Precautionary Statements Hazards To Human And Domestic Animals
  • CAUTION: Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
  • PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) Applicators and other handlers must wear:  Protective eyewear.  Long-sleeved shirt and long pants . Shoes plus socks Mixers/loaders and applicators must wear a NIOSHapproved particulate filter with any N, R, or P filter with NIOSH approval number prefix TC-84A; or a NIOSHapproved powered air purifying respirator with an HE filter with NIOSH approval number prefix TC-21C. Repeated exposure to high concentrations of microbial proteins can cause allergic sensitization. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry
  • USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS Users should:  Remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing.  Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS For terrestrial uses: Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate.

Storage And Disposal

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.

  • PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store in original container under refrigerated conditions. Short periods at room temperatures below 75° F will not affect performance. Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
  • PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from the use of this product must be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
  • CONTAINER HANDLING: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. [10-lb unit packaged in polyethylene bag and placed into corrugated carton] Completely empty bag by shaking and tapping sides and bottom to loosen clinging particles.
