  • DISEASE CONTROL RootShield WP provides preventative control of major root diseases including Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Cylidrocladium, and Thielaviopsis species. RootShield WP controls disease for up to 12 weeks.
  • HEALTHY ROOTS RootShield WP grows in soils and on roots shielding them against root damaging fungi, promoting a healthier roots and increasing root mass potential.
  • INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT RootShield WP is an effective tool in IPM programs to help manage fungicide resistance.

Applications

APPLICATION NOTES

  • DRENCH & IRRIGATION
  1. Suspend RootShield WP in sufficient water with agitation.
  2. Apply as a drench or through irrigation to greenhouse planting mixes and container nursery crops.
  3. Constant agitation in a stock tank is required to maintain suspension.
  4. Can be applied through low pressure watering nozzles, sub-irrigation or other drenching systems.
  5. When using a fertilizer injector to drench, keep the injector pick-up tube screen at least 1-2 inches from the bottom of the tank.
  6. Set the injector at 1:100.

APPLICATION RATES

  • Un-rooted or bare-root transplant dip: 0.5-2.5 lb/5 gal, or dip into dry powder
  • Soil, potting mix or other growing medium drench: 3-5 oz/100 gal, or for smaller volume 1-2 Tbsp/5 gal
  • In-furrow spray / transplant starter solution: 16-32 oz/acre
  • Greenhouse and field chemigation: 3-5 oz/100 gal
  • Tank Mixing: RootShield WP can be tank mixed and is compatible with many common fungicides, liquid fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and biological control products. Consult the RootShield WP Compatibility Chart for more information.
Directions For Use

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe, consult the State or Tribal agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

Precautionary Statements Hazards To Human And Domestic Animals
  • HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS CAUTION: Harmful if absorbed through skin, inhaled, or swallowed. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Avoid breathing dust. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
  • PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) Applicators and other handlers must wear:  Protective eyewear  Long-sleeved shirt and long pants  Waterproof gloves  Shoes and socks Mixers/loaders and applicators must wear a NIOSHapproved particulate filter with any N, R, or P filter with NIOSH approval number prefix TC-84A; or a NIOSHapproved powered air purifying respirator with an HE filter with NIOSH approval number prefix TC-21C. Repeated exposure to high concentrations of microbial proteins can cause allergic sensitization. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.
  • USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS Users should:  Remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing.  Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS For terrestrial uses: Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate.

Storage And Disposal

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.

  • PESTICIDE STORAGE: Store in original container under refrigerated conditions. Short periods at room temperatures below 75° F will not affect performance. Do not store near food or feed commodities. Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
  • PESTICIDE DISPOSAL: Wastes resulting from the use of this product must be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
  • CONTAINER HANDLING: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Completely empty bag by shaking and tapping sides and bottom to loosen clinging particles. Empty residue into application equipment. Then offer for recycling if available, or dispose of empty bag in a sanitary landfill or by incineration. Do not burn, unless allowed by state and local ordinances. If burned, stay out of smoke. If outer box is contaminated, dispose of it in the same manner as required for the bag.
