Product Highlights

PMA-2000 is designed for new flashing installation as well as repair of and patching against leaks in asphalt-based roofing systems. Plasticizing oils and specially selected resins provide unusual low temperature flexibility and ductility. PMA-2000 may be cold applied or trowel graded for use as a patching or leak repair material.

Additional Product Advantages

  • PMA-2000 is factory formulated under rigid quality control conditions to ensure uniform product quality and to eliminate the variables inherent on job site preparation of roof materials where quality control depends entirely on the individual roofer’s expertise.
  • PMA-2000 is a multipurpose material ideal for rebuilding or maintaining flashings, sealing metal roof or gutter leaks and repairing holes, splits or blisters in the roof surface; outlasts and outperforms conventional roof cement.
  • Long strand fibers provide an inherent reinforcement helping to eliminate run or sag in vertical surface applications. PMA-2000 should be used in conjunction with fiberglass mesh for roof repair and certain flashing applications.
  • PMA-2000 is asbestos free.

Applications & Uses

Application Method
Application

PMA-2000 is ready to use, as is, from the container. It will not settle or form a layer of oil. In cold weather, store at room temperature to ensure proper workability. PMA-2000 should only be applied to clean dry surfaces. Trowel a base coat of PMA-2000 over the area to be repaired. Embed a strip of fiberglass mesh into the base coat and top dress with PMA-2000. The top coat should be sufficiently thick so the weave in the membrane is completely covered (1 gal per 7 lineal ft.; at 8” wide x 1/4” deep). All safety and good roofing practices should be followed while applying this product. PMA-2000 should be installed by a professional roofing contractor having previous experience in the application methods described.
