Bures Professional POTTING SOIL FOR PAVING BSS 20/40

Bures Professional POTTING SOIL FOR PAVING BSS 20/40, the new residential neighborhoods, as well as the new transport infrastructure, underline the need to recover green spaces to improve the health of our environment, as well as our well-being. Landscaped or ecological roofs can locally reduce the environmental impact of buildings, in addition to offering a multitude of economic and ecological advantages such as management and use of rainwater, energy saving: thermal insulation, protection against direct sunburn, mitigation of the “urban heat island” effect, increases the longevity of roof insulation membranes, creation of a more esthetic and pleasant environment for living and traveling, But to take advantage of all the advantages that a landscaped roof offers us, we need an adequate selection of plant species to be established, and of course, an adapted growth substrate.

    Identification & Functionality

    Composition

BVM-2 substrate for landscaped roofs, is formulated mainly from volcanic sand with a grain size of 0-6 mm (> 80% by weight), from the quarries of the company BURÉS PROFESIONAL, SA, with a low percentage of the vegetable fraction organic
Vegetable compost provides all the qualities of an organic amendment; The presence of organic matter promotes water retention in addition to maintaining the structure of the substrate and in the long term, gradually releases nutrients in small doses.
On the other hand, the volcanic material shows its good aeration (porosity), its chemical inertness and the stability of its structure.
The precise mixture of its components guarantees the effectiveness of the substrate, with adequate drainage and aeration to the needs of the vegetation cover.
In addition, the BMV-2 substrate includes in its formulation a basic fertilizer (NPK + MgO) to facilitate the rooting of the crop.
It should be noted that the high mineral content of the substrate allows it not to disappear under the action of wind or water (erosion), is not compacted over time and also does not promote the growth of weeds, thus ensuring low maintenance
The substrate performs the functions of supplying nutrients, water and oxygen, in addition to the physical support of the vegetation.
The BVM-2 substrate has good agronomic suitability, but above all it stands out for its great stability over time and for offering a good water / air exchange ratio.
Due to the physico-chemical characteristics of this product (high porosity and rapid drainage of the substrate), it is advisable to install an irrigation program, to ensure the good condition of the green roof during periods of low rainfall and / or summer drought.

    Features & Benefits

    Characteristics

BVM-2 substrate is suitable for growing plant species with low irrigation requirements; Sedum-like species.

    Advantages
    • Fast drainage and high stability
    • Very porous substrate
    • Very good control of the appearance of weeds (weeds).

On the other hand, the previous composting of its organic fraction allows us to ensure that it is a substrate free of phytopathogenic agents and seeds of weeds.
