PRODEASA BVT substrates are made from high quality raw materials which, when mixed together, ensure substrate efficiency and proper drainage and ventilation for each crop. Each substrate has a different composition and a tailor-made fertilizer. All substrates are commercialized with a corrected pH (5.5-6.5) and a base fertilizer (NPK) for the start of cultivation. Between the substrates PRODEASA stand out four big lines differentiated with regard to type of material and his properties.

Identification & Functionality

Composition

BVT’s main component is ECOBOSC, to which volcanic puzolana and lay are added.

ECOBOSC is a 100% natural and vegetal compound, consisting of a mixture of vegetal components which are selected, smashed and then undergo a careful aerobic composting process.

Some of the main components of Ecobosc are pine bark, smashed pruning and leaf litter, amongst which pine bark stands as the basic material of the mixture.

The added clay brings some very interesting properties to the BVT:

  • High water retention capacity, and the possibility of freeing it slowly.
  • High ion Exchange rate, which improves both the nutrient exchange and the buffering capacity of the substrate.
  • Reduces the price of the substrate, if compared to peat-based products.

The adding of clay in the right proportion to the BVT has a beneficial effect when transplanting plants, as it improves the hydraulic continuity between the substrate that holds the roots and the one to which the plant is moved.

Moreover, the clay’s high density provides a more compact substrate, making it more resistant to the wind and tumbles of outdoors container farming.

On the other hand, the volcanic puzolana, even though it is only a small fraction of the substrate, maintains the roots’ aeration and speeds up the water drainage.

Features & Benefits

Product Highlights

When plants are transplanted to large containers, or when the cultivation of plants long-term in containers begins, the need of a special substrate arises. An economical yet technically adequate substrate is required, one that doesn’t dry easily and which takes long time to degrade.

BURÉS PROFESIONAL, S.A., answers this need with the BVT substrate, which retains water more strongly than other substrates, thus allowing it not to dry even in harsher conditions. This way the withering of the plants is avoided.

Out of this special property, the BVT is the ideal substrate for Mediterranean climate plants that requires lengthy farming.

BV LINE
Substrates made with ECOBOSC to obtain more resistant crops and better support transplantation in the soil.
It is the perfect alternative to peat, as the natural presence of beneficial microorganisms in the compound has favorable effects on plant growth and its tolerance to adverse conditions. Its formulation also includes volcanic putzolane (to facilitate drainage and maintain substrate structure) and 35% Sphagnum blond peat.
With hardening effect on plants.

PRODEASA BVT
The BVT substrate is a substrate made from Ecobosc compound, volcanic clay and putzolana. An important component in the substrate is the pine bark, which has a suppressive effect on some diseases and fungi of the plant.
The BVT has high water retention thanks to the clay, which retains some of the water and gradually releases it. In addition, it improves cation exchange, making the most of the nutrients. The weight of the clay makes it difficult to fall due to the wind. Volcanic gives the substrate the porosity needed to aerate the substrate and maintain it throughout the growing season.

Characteristics

BVT is a stable and perfectly adventitious seedsfree, which allows for a farming without risk of fermentation or other phenomena due to “nitrogen immobilization”.

The whole producing processes, as well as the final product, is under our accurate quality controls certified by “Normas” ISO-9001 and 14001, with the aim of guaranteeing the satisfaction of our clients as well as a deep respect towards the environment as in all our activities.

BVT has very special characteristics, thanks to its physical properties differing a lot from the often recommended as optimal for the tradition farming substrates.

This difference is due to the plants that grow in BVT: they have a great facility to obtain water, even when it’s strongly held by the substrate, thus making a strong water holding substrate such as BVT ideal.

Another special characteristic of BVT is that it can be used even in environments with large water losses due to evaporation, as it retains the water strongly and therefore prevents plants from suffering hydrological stress, even in summer.

In short: BVT is a substrate ideal for the Mediterranean climate, to which it is adapted.

The substrate is served with a base fertilizer, so it is not necessary to fertilize it in the beginning. For long-term cultivations it is recommended to fertilize with the controlled-liberation fertilizers of the FERTICOTE brand.

Applications & Uses

Application

The BVT substrate is adequate for Mediterranean plants with cultivation periods Langer than 8 months, as well as longcultivation trees or bushes.

  • Ideal for Cupresssus, Pyracantha, euonymus, Nerium, Viburnum, aromatic plants and pebbles.
  • Very adequate for semi-intensive cultivation with non-programmed watering, as it allows for more seldom watering.
  • Good for the transplanto f large plants and direct potting up of bushes and trees taken out of the fields.
  • Excellent substrate for use in intensive green covers.

The BVT is given in bulk, served by dump truck and in big-bags at request
