The SCI1 substrate is a preparation made from blond peat and long coconut fiber. It is specially designed to facilitate the rooting of the plant and accelerate its forced growth. Substrates made with long coconut fiber and Sphagnum blonde peat to improve crop rooting. In this line of substrates can be combined: calibrated or uncalibrated blonde peat and coconut fiber.

Identification & Functionality

Composition

The main components of the SCI substrate are Spaghnum peat from the Northern Europe Baltic peat bogs and coconut fiber that contains no fine particles. The mixture can include different fertilizer doses according to the kind of crop and the client’s need.

The substrates with coconut fiber and Spaghnum peat as main components allow for low density, highly stable substrates to be developed. They have excellent physical properties and a great capacity to maintain their structure through the whole cultivation period, thanks to the high degradation resistance of the coconut fiber.

PRODEASA substrates are manufactured from high quality raw materials that, precisely mixed, guarantee the effectiveness of the substrate, with adequate drainage and ventilation to the needs of each crop. Each of the substrates has a different composition and a custom subscriber. All substrates are marketed with the corrected pH (5.5-6.5), and with a base fertilizer (NPK) for the start of the culture. Among the PRODEASA substrates, there are four large differentiated lines in terms of type of material and its properties.

Properties

Metal content below the authorized limits for this calsification (class A).

The SCI substrate improves root development and allows the Fast growth of the plants through the whole cultivation period.

The mixture has a high aeration and porosity, which guarantees an optimal root settlement and health.

The SCI substrate is enriched with a base fertilizer dose (SCI-1 fertilization dose) for the first weeks of farming. The customized production allows for up to three different levels of fertilization (see details on table).

For low fertilizer doses (SCI-1) further fertilization is recommended to achieve maximum efficiency. Said fertilization can be done through a slow-release fertilizer or fertilization watering.

It is noteworthy the slightly acidic pH of the mixture, which improves nutrient solubility

Application

The SCI substrate has been designed by BURÉS PROFESIONAL, S.A., for both greenhouse and outdoor with controlled catering farming, allowing for a great range of ornamental plants. This mixture is highly polyvalent, and is ideal for the plants listed below

SCI-1: .Tropical plants: kentia, saintpaulia, croton .Acidophyl plants’ farming: hortensia, camelia, rhododendron, gardenia

Presentation

The SCI is sold in bulk, served with a dump truck, with a minimum order of 20 m3 . It can be bought as well in 70L sacks, with 39 sacks/pallet.

The whole producing process, as well as the final product, has undergone strict quality controls with the aim of guaranteeing both the client satisfaction and a deep respect for the environment in all our activities.
