CARBOMAX® BIO S65LX-HT

1 of 5 products in this brand
CARBOMAX® BIO S65LX-HT is a new generation of patented masterbatch produced in pellet form and made of calcium carbonate and a blend of biodegradable and 100% bio-based polymers. The grade of calcium carbonate has been specially developed to be used in the bioplastics made from polyesters in order to promote the prevention of hydrolysis leading to degrade the mechanical properties of the products. Therefore, it is possible to substantially increase the rate of calcium carbonate in the products made of bioplastics.

    Advantages

    Using CARBOMAX®BIO S65LX-HT

    • Allows to achieve a high bio-based content: < 80 % bio-based carbone as a fraction of total organic carbone, with method: iso-16620-2;2015(ams).
    • Improves productivity by reducing cycle times.
    • Improves the mechanical performances of finished products: increase or no decrease in hdt (heat deflection temperature) depending on the bioresin used, increase of rigidity, increase of opacity.
    • Reduces energy consumption.
    • Reduces costs of formulation.
    Product Highlights

CARBOMAX®BIO is our new range of biodegradable and compostable products rich in calcium carbonate intended to be used with bioplastics, especially in extrusion-film applications (mulching film for agriculture, flexible packaging, bio-waste bags), thermoforming and injection. We use specially developed calcium carbonate to achieve the best mechanical performance and to avoid hydrolysis in order not to degrade the mechanical properties of the products. By using this technique, it is possible to have optimized particle dispersion and to substantially increase the rate of calcium carbonate in the products made of bioplastics. The bioplastics used in our formulas are 100% biodegradable and compostable, fulfilling the requirements of the European standard DIN EN 13432. The extrusion of biodegradable materials is facilitated by the contribution of CARBOMAX®BIO. CARBOMAX®BIO is available in bio-sourced or mineral versions. The different versions are certified OK compost Home, OK compost Industrial or OK biodegradable Soil by TÜV Austria. CARBOMAX®BIO is very white and helps limit the intake of white colorants in formulations. It is the essential complement to your formulas to reduce your costs.

    Areas of Use

CARBOMAX®BIO S65LX-HT is mainly used for thermoforming and injection. We recommend a percentage of use between 5 and 50%. It is mainly used for contact with hot products such as single-use cups, vending cups. As CARBOMAX®BIO S65LX-HT is very white, it can replace significantly TiO2 in white films. It may also be used as antiblock agent.

    Applications
    • Can be compliant for food contact applications.
    • Helps to reduce consumption of bioplastics, which makes it more environmentally friendly and more economical.
    • It is completely recyclable and biodegradable.
