Captain Drake Tricalcium Citrate

Captain Drake Tricalcium Citrate is tri calcium dicitrate tetrahydrate, hereinafter referred to as tricalcium citrate. in some countries such as usa, tri calcium citrate is simply denominated calcium citrate. it is produced by complete neutralization of citric acid with a high purity calcium source such as calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate. with its high calcium content of 21%, tricalcium citrate is the most economic calcium salt among the commonly used organic calcium salts.

    Product Highlight

Tricalcium citrate is supplied as a white, odorless, crystalline powder or fine powder. it is slightly soluble in water and freely soluble in diluted hy drochloric acid. in contrary to other
salts, tricalcium citrate is better soluble at lower temperatures (so-called "inverse solubility"). it is practically in soluble in alcohol during heat treatment, it is less reactive than other calcium salts due to its inverse solubility. with regard to its significantly better bioavailability, tricalcium citrate is preferred overinorg anic calcium sources such as calgium carbonate or calcium phosphate. potassium salts, it is less bitter and thus can be used at higher concen tration levels. tripotassium citrate is a non-toxic, slightly alkaline salt with low reactivity. it is chemically
stable if stored at ambient temperatures. in its monohydrate form it is very hygroscopic and must be protected from exposure to humidity. care must be taken not to expose tripotassium
citrate monohy drate to high pres sure during transport and storage as this may result in caking."
