CCM gmbh 706

CCM gmbh 706 is a 2-component technology which is optimized for spray application with the CCM Low Pressure Spray System (see below). Marble (and similar calcite-based stone) is highly reactive to acids, both in liquid and gaseous form. Over recent years we have been developing this high-performance coating technology which allows for the easy coating of marble via a one product coating.

Product Type: 2K (2 component) Coating

Identification & Functionality

Features & Benefits

Overview

Simply mix the components together and allow the liquid to “stand” for 10 minutes before spray application. Apply the coating on to the target surface at a layer thickness of between 20-25 microns.

Allow the coating to bond at room temperature (20°C) for 24 hours before any form of mechanical loading. Full protection is established after 7 days at 20°C. (IR heating can be used to reduce the curing time. The exact times are dependent on the thickness of the marble and heat output of the IR source.) If it is essential that the surface is useable after 24 hours every effort must be made to limit mechanical loading and prevent any attack from acids, alkaline and solvents.

706 Q² Marble PRO is ideal for use on any marble surface. The coated surface becomes glossy and very easy to clean. In the event that the end user wishes to achieve a matt appearance it is suggested that the surface is lightly abraded with a fine abrasive such as 1000 grit abrasive.

Over time the surface will become less glossy as surface abrasion will inevitably degrade the surface. It is suggested that the CCM 7660 Polish is used as an easy to apply maintenance product as this will create a very easy to clean coating which will refresh the surface after abrasion.

Re application of the coating is very straight forward. Simply clean and or abrade the surface and spray the coating on to the target surface.

Characteristics
  • Excellent shine and durability
  • Long-lasting "easy-to-clean" characteristics
  • Enriches the colors of the target marble/ stone surface
  • Anti-stain characteristics
  • Suitable for interior and exterior application
  • Good UV stability and protection.
  • Extremely resistant to mechanical and environmerntal degradation.
  • Resistant against domestic grade acid and alkaline degradation, as well as organic solvents.
  • Heat tolerant, ambient temperature 350°C, point temperature 220°C

Applications & Uses

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Certifications
  • Certified according to AS/NZS4020 2005 (Australia) for use in contact with drinking water.
  • Certified for use in contact with food (EU).
Coverage Rate

Depending on the type of application approx. 60m² / kg. Significantly less when spraying with any device other than the CCM Low Pressure Spray System.

Applications

Conditions

  • Working temperature (surrounding and surface) must be above 5°C
  • Best results are obtained in a range between 15°C and 25°C
  • No application in direct sunlight
  • The surface must be clean, dry, grease-free and free from silicones, wax- or polish residues
  • In most instances application will be conducted after the abrasion of the target surface. Ensure that all dust particles have been removed from the surface and local areas prior to spray application.

 Compatibility

  • Corroded areas e.g. tap bases or metal lighting or inlays within the marble, must be thoroughly cleaned and all corrosion removed before coating.

 Reparation

  • Use undiluted
  • Follow the mixing ratio instruction very precisely
  • Add the hardener to the base liquid, shake or stir the solution and wait approximately 10 minutes before working. Allow any “stirring bubbles” to dissipate before application
  • Close the container of the hardener immediately. The hardener is very sensitive to humidity
  • Maximum pot life after initial mixing is 4 hours.

 Applications

  • Use the CCM Low Pressure Spray System for spray application. Spray application provides the highest quality finish.
  • Roller application is possible but not recommended for surfaces which have to attain the high-qual-ity appearance of kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
  • If rollers are used it is recommended that a high-quality small pore roller for gloss paint and var-nishes is used. Ovoid over application as this may create “roller- lines”. The target layer should be 25 microns.
  • It is important to note that there is a degree of self-leveling after application.
Application
  • Application tools and spray gun can be cleaned with standard thinner or solvents
  • Humidity after application accelerates the drying process
  • Insects are drawn to the odor of this coating and so, avoid application just before sunset or at times when insects are prevalent.
  • Impurities that have been trapped during the drying time can be polished away after complete Drying
  • “Easy-to-clean”-effect and chemical resistance are achieved some days after application (3 days to 7 days depending on the curing temperature and associated humidity).
  • The application of a remedial coating for corrections can only be carried out after light abrasion of the surface.

Details of application are highly dependent on the surface to be coated. We would be happy to advise you on this.

Technical Details & Test Data

CCM Low Pressure Spray system
  • The CCM Low Pressure Spray Gun is probably the world’s most sophisticated spray gun/system and this is why we suggest that our partners use this technology for the application of our coatings.
  • Not only is it a multi award winning technology. Amongst other awards it is certified as EU/BAT which is “Best Available Technology”. This award was presented as the spray gun reduces over-spray by a massive factor and offers 30% greater coverage per liter.
  • Unlike other spray systems this technology allows for the application of coatings within confined areas such as kitchens and bathrooms as there is almost zero overspray and so it is ideally suited for the application of our 706 Q² Marble PRO.
