PETRELAB® 550 is a linear alkylbenzene (LAB) resulting from the catalytic alkylation of benzene with linear mono-olefins derived from the dehydrogenation process of n-paraffins. These substances primarily serve as raw materials in the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) through sulfonation reactions and the subsequent production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) via neutralization. It is a key anionic surfactant widely used in various applications, notably in household detergents such as laundry powders, laundry liquids, dishwashing products, and all-purpose cleaners. Additionally, LAS finds use in a range of other industries.
