Cerflon Technologies CER-MS

Cerflon Technologies CER-MS is a concentrated dispersion of PTFE and hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN) in mineral spirits. CER-MS provides a new dimension in durable coating application. It is an exceptionally stable dispersion that is translucent white in color which makes CER-MS desirable for applications where the use of a dark colored (Graphite or MoS2) solid lubricants would be unacceptable.

Features & Benefits

Product Highlights

CER-MS is formulated with the patented technology of Ceramic Reinforced Technologies which “Ceramically reinforces” the PTFE. This reinforcement significantly increases its durability and application range and the technology also provides improved EP, load carrying and anti-wear properties in fully formulated and finished coatings and lubricants. Benefits can include energy savings, smoother mechanical operation, extended life, and reduced maintenance costs of the object being coated or lubricated. The “reinforced” PTFE reduces surface to surface contact and scuffing while providing reliable low friction lubrication under boundary conditions.

Applications & Uses

Typical Uses
  • Release Coatings
  • Chain and Conveyor Lubricants
  • Gear Lubricant
  • General Purpose Lubricants
  • Penetrating Oils and Fluids
  • Aerosol Lubricants
Methods of Use

Dilution:

Stir the CER-MS thoroughly for uniform consistency, then premix equal parts of CER-MS and the other carrier(s)/diluents(s) before blending with the balance of the carrier(s)/diluents(s). Agitate consistently by mechanical stirring throughout the blending operation. For evaluation, use CER-MS at one(1) percent PTFE/BN solids by weight in the finished oil, or approximately five (5) to seven (7) percent by weight of CER-MS. The final concentration of CER-MS should be chosen for the desired results and/or performance. A small amount of soft settling of the larger particles may occur during long periods of storage. Mild agitation will restore these particles back into suspension. Always thoroughly agitate immediately before using the diluted form of CER-MS.

Surface Preparation and Application:

Substrates should be clean and dry before application. Use a solvent wipe or vapor degreasing with air will be adequate for most applications. Diluted CER-MS can be applied by spray, brush or dip process.
