Since 1954, Chemax Manufacturing Corporation's Tracit ("Trace-It") heat transfer cements (compounds) have been considered essential for use in industrial applications where there is a need to transfer heat from one surface to another. This includes steam, fluid, and hot oil heat tracing systems where freeze protection and process temperature maintenance are critical concerns. Chemax heat transfer compounds significantly boost heat transfer rates between steam or electric tracers and process piping. Heat transfer cement works by eliminating the air cavities that exist between the tracer and process pipe. Heat is then transferred far more efficiently via means of conduction. Only one Tracit line is required to maintain pipe temperature where 3-5 bare tracers would normally be needed. Chemax heat transfer compound is renowned for its workability, and is easily hand-troweled onto externally traced process pipes, valves, pumps, and industrial equipment. These self-curing compounds are non-corrosive and strongly bond to metal surfaces.

TRACIT

Tracit™ 1100 is a non-hardening compound (cement) was designed to be used with clamp-on (plate-type) heating coils. TRACIT-1100 eliminates the air voids that exist between the coil and vessel wall, leading to a threefold increase in conductive heat flow. TRACIT-1100 mastic issoft and pliable, allowing it to maintain superior surface contact during expansion and contraction cycles. TRACIT-1100 is waterproof and will act as a corrosion barrier.

TRACIT™ 1100

Tracit™ 600A is a high-temperature heat transfer compound (cement) that hardens when cured. This fine-grained mastic is designed for use on electric and thermal fluid heat tracing systems exceeding 750°F (400°C). May also be used on high-temperature applications such as electric strip and ring heaters. This compound dissipates heat away from electrical resistance heating elements into the adjacent equipment. Systems that utilize TRACIT-600A experience faster heat-up times and increased energy efficiency.

TRACIT™ 600A

Tracit™ 300 is a heat transfer compound (cement) hardens when cured. This product is recommended for use on steam or electric tracing (tubing) attached to process pipes. Also for valves, elbows, or anywhere there is a desire to maintain temperatures above or below ambient. A single heat tracer utilizing TRACIT-300 is equal to three or more bare tracers. May also be used on plate-type coil applications exceeding the temperature limits of non-hardening compounds.
