- Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
- Uses
- Cure, seal, and protect horizontal decorative concrete and exposed aggregate.
- Seal and protect any exterior, horizontal, or vertical concrete or masonry surface.
- Protect and amplify the beauty of decorative concrete or some natural stone and pavers (a test area is required).
- Deepens and enhances the color of decorative concrete while protecting it from water, freeze/thaw damage and most hydrocarbon chemicals.
- Keep surfaces from dusting and chalking, makes them easier to clean.
- Directions
Mixing: Do not dilute. Traz 25 is packaged ready to use. Stir or agitate before using.
Curing: Traz 25 has been specially formulated to meet the unique curing requirements of stamped concrete and exposed aggregate at 300 ft2/gal. It is not recommended for use as a cure on broom finished or smooth trowel fin-ished surfaces.
Sealing: Surface Preparation: Traz 25 may be applied to freshly placed stamped and exposed aggregate substrates after final finish has been applied. Smooth and broom fin-ish substrates must be a minimum of 28 days old and fully cured. In all cases, Traz 25 should be applied to a dry substrate. Surface and ambient temperatures must be a minimum of 40oF (4oC). Do not apply to frozen or frosted surfaces. Traz 25 should be conditioned to a minimum of 50oF (10oC) prior to application. Surface must be clean and free from dirt, dust, laitance, oil, grease, paints, curing agents, tilt up bond breakers, or other contaminants that would prevent proper adhesion. Multiple coats of sealing compounds should be chemically removed. Rinse thor-oughly and allow the substrate to dry completely before applying Traz 25. Joints to receive joint sealant should be masked or taped off prior to applying.
Application: Spray Apply with a low pressure, solvent resistant, airless, sprayer equipped with a fan nozzle ori-fice of 0.030 to 0.035” at 1 gpm. The optimum spray pat-tern is an 8” to 12” fan. Hold sprayer tip 8” to 12” from the surface of the concrete. Apply uniformly leaving no pin-holes or gaps. Do not allow the material to puddle.
Roller Apply: Use a short nap (1/4” max) solvent resistant roller. Apply a continuous film leaving no pinholes or gaps. Do not allow material to puddle.
Lambs wool applicator: Apply a continuous film leaving no pinholes or gaps. Do not allow material to puddle.
On porous or open textures or for greater chemical re-sistance an additional coat may be applied. Apply second coat when surface is tack free, typically about 1 hour at 70oF (21oC) with 50% relative humidity. Lightly acid etch smooth trowel finished concrete before sealing.
Do not over apply, less is better. Do not apply in excess of 300 ft2/gal per coat. Over application will reduce the breathability of the coating system and may result in de-laminating or discoloring of the sealer system when ex-posed to high water vapor pressures.
For best results apply when ambient air and surface temperatures are above 40oF (4oC) and below 90oF (32oC) avoid windy days and direct sunlight. Condition material to 50oF (10oC) before use.Recoating: When the finish begins to lose its original lus-ter it can be restored using ChemMasters’ Gloss Restor-er. Technical Details & Test Data
- Limitations
- Traz 25 is not to be used as a bond breaker for tilt up construction
- Traz 25 is not recommended for primary or secondary containment areas or for use under resinous coatings. Consult ChemMasters’ Technical Service staff for alter-native materials.
- Traz 25 has been specially formulated to cure stamped concrete and exposed aggregate.
- Do not apply:
- When temperature is below 40oF (4oC)
- When surface is frosted or frozen
- When surface has excess moisture from heavy precipitation or power washing
- As a cure on broom finished or smooth trow-eled concrete
- On interior surfaces.
- To joints or channels scheduled to receive elastomeric caulks.
- To surfaces scheduled to receive concrete overlays, toppings, or thin set mortars.
- In the presence of foodstuffs
- Traz 25 will darken or highlight the subtle color varia-tions naturally present in concrete. When the differ-ence in shading is objectionable, consult ChemMas-ters’ Technical Staff for recommendations.
- For best results condition material to a minimum of 50oF (10oC) prior to application.
