Product Highlights
CP Debond 637 Debonding Agent is designed to reduce tensile strength of the pulp while improving softness and hand feel of facial and toilet tissue. All our debonders are cationic and are added to the pulp before it reaches the headbox. They can be combined with CP Soft 100A to increase the softening effect. Significant hand feel improvements are obtained in the finished tissue product. The release effect is low to medium depending on which debonder is used. A synergystic relationship is obtained when using a CP Debond product together with a spray of CP Soft 100A on the felt.
Advantages
  • Significant hand-feel improvements can be obtained in the finished tissue product.
  • The release effect is low compared to competitive products but depends on the Yankee coating/release package that is used. For this reason ChemPro recommends to use the CP Coat 750 adhesive with CP Soft 100A.
  • A synergistic relationship is obtained when using the cationic CP Debond 637 together with a spray of CP Soft 100A on the felt

Applications & Uses

Industrial Additives End Use
CP Debond 637 Debonding Agent
CP Debond 637 is a concentrated mix of cationic fatty polyamide amine polymer with emulsifiers.
Applications

CP Debond 637 is designed to reduce tensile strength of the pulp with improved softness in production of facial and toilet tissue. Dilution to 1% or less before addition is recommended. This product has good dispersibility in hot or cold water. CP Debond 637 must be warmed to the minimum of 40 C to allow pumping for bulk handling. Application of 0.1 to 0.2% of CP Debond 637 per dry pulp gives good results ( 1 – 2 kg/MT ).

Normally the increase in hand-feel (surface smoothness and flexibility) is accompanied by a loss of tensile strength, as strength and softness tend to be inversely related in tissue paper products, all other factors, such as basis weight etc, being equal.
CP Debond 637, a cationic debonder with softening effect, is added to the pulp before it reaches the head-box. It can be combined with CP-soft 100A to increase the softening effect.

CP-soft 100A is a water soluble silicone that can be sprayed on the felt prior to the suction press. ChemPro furthermore offers lotions (CP-soft 60 and 90 families) that are applied in the converting process rather than on the paper machine.
